Executive Summary
The BACTEC™ MGIT™ 960 System developed by BD, dramatically shortens TB culture recovery time. The test is more sensitive than older tests, yielding faster and more accurate results. To ensure access to this test, BD collaborated with the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) to develop pricing agreements, as well as contributing to lab strengthening and training programs. The program also has a strong advocacy component to draw attention to the global TB epidemic.
