HENRY CHANG
Vice President, Impact Initiatives
Henry Chang leads GBC effort to devise and deliver “Impact Initiatives” through global teams of member companies. These teams will coordinate a strategic mix of multiple private-sector players together with appropriate NGO, government, and local partners focused on a clear, high-impact objective. This new core GBC program was created at the behest of members, who believe that cross-functional, multiple partner collaborative programs are critical to evolving business action to a higher, results-intensive level.
Henry came to GBC with more than two decades of experience in HIV/AIDS research and advocacy. Most recently, Henry served as Chief of Global Affairs at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), leading a global team of medical and management professionals in support of AHF’s treatment and care programs in 19 countries throughout Africa, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. During his 11 years at AHF, Henry held various positions, including Director of Clinical Research from 1996 to 1998 and member of the AHF Board of Directors from 1998 to 2001.

There he assisted in the development of a novel, quantitative assay for determining HIV viral load in blood, semen, saliva, and CSF. Henry was a founding member of the Treatment and Data Committee of the Los Angeles Chapter of the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT-UP).
From 1995 to 1998, Henry served as a community member of numerous clinical trial protocol teams of the Adults AIDS Clinical Trials Group, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, U.S. National Institute of Health.
