Gessy Lever, Brazil
Gessy Lever - the Brazilian subsidiary of Unilever - reinforced Unilever's internationally adopted HIV/AIDS response with a HIV/AIDS Prevention Program focused not just on employees, but also on their families and the communities. The program was strongly oriented to teenagers and young adults. In particular, the company used one of its brands, the AXE deodorant, to identify a campaign for safer sex targeted at 14 to 25 year old males. The company has used the platform of the Brazilian Business Council for HIV/AIDS to share their experience and materials with other companies.
