CEOs from leading Coalition member companies are striking a blow against discrimination and stigma this World AIDS Day, by signing the Coalition’s HIV/AIDS nondiscrimination pledge.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 Awards for Business Excellence, to be presented at the culmination of a two-day conference on June 24 in Washington, DC. The Awards recognize corporate and public/private initiatives that are standard-setting and producing exceptional impact in the fight to save lives. The deadline for submissions is February 23, 2009.
Coalition and Partners Win Emmy
Coalition member support helped produce "Get Tested," in partnership with HBO, Kaiser Family Foundation, and the NBA. The PSA featured Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx and promoted HIV testing in the USA.
GBC welcomes the appointment of Michel Sidibé as the new executive director of UNAIDS. Sidibé has been a strong advocate for public-private partnerships and engaging business on HIV/AIDS. His appointment is great news both for private sector action and the broader fight against HIV/AIDS.
The China AIDS Media Partnership – the Coalition’s latest Impact Initiative – is a powerful collaboration of businesses, the Chinese Government, multilateral organizations and NGOs that is delivering life-saving educational messages to millions of vulnerable people in China.
